Collect the Strongbow Saga Tokens

A different collectible token is being designed for each book in the Strongbow Saga series by the artists of Urweg Nordic Tribal Jewelry (www.urweg.com), who make beautiful reproductions of Viking-era artifacts and jewelry. Each token is cast in lead-free pewter and strung on a cord. They may be used as bookmarks if looped through the pages of a book, worn as pendants, or used, without the cord, as key rings.

The token for Viking Warrior evokes the rune stones raised across Scandinavia during the Viking Age, often as memorials to a deceased family member or comrade. The front of the token bears the Danish Viking-era rune for the letter "H" and symbolizes Halfdan's love for his brother Harald, and his quest to avenge him.

The VIKING WARRIOR token

The design for the Dragons from the Sea token is based on a carving of a dragon found on a Viking-era rune stone discovered in Sweden. Pendants were popular with both men and women in Viking-era Scandinavia, and this heavy-weight piece is well suited for use as a reproduction of Viking jewelry.

The DRAGONS FROM THE SEA token

Giving gifts to guests and visitors was a common practice in the culture of the Vikings. The author of the Strongbow Saga gives away the Strongbow Saga tokens as gifts at author appearances and book signings. Watch for an appearance near you!

The Strongbow Saga tokens are also available with books purchased at or ordered from the Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale, Arizona (http://www.poisonedpen.com/).
